Today's photo required a bit of improvisation.  You see, my dear husband has taken on a new hobby where he hides my camera EVERY SINGLE DAY! As I went to grab my camera for tonight's shot, I noticed that it was no where to be found.  Naturally, the first thing I did was harass him.  He denied all my accusations and relentlessly expressed his innocence.  Oh but 20 minutes later he says "I don't think I hid it" which really meant that he did but he's forgotten where he left it! Great. Eventually he gives me enough of his memory to find my camera, but when I go to take my photo, it reads, "recharge battery pack". And that is why I have steam coming out of my ears. You're lucky you're so cute David!

In the dead of winter, three trees manage to keep all their leaves.

I saw these last week but didn't have my camera then. Today I wanted a shot of the trees, from a distance. Just as I was crossing the street to get there, a taxi driver decided to speed through the pedestrian's green and missed me by about 3 feet. I was shocked and not to mention pissed! This has happened to me for the third time at this intersection. Different corners the other times. Yes the sun was starting to set but as you can tell by the photo, it was not the dark of night.

I walked right past my spot because I was so caught up in anger and shock. When I realized I missed it I didn't care about the tree anymore and I was most definitely not crossing the street again! My brain and mood came to a compromise and instead of going to where I had originally planned, I walked up to the tree instead. Yes this sounds totally cheesy, but as I stared at the leaves closely I couldn't help but be caught up; how strange and wonderful they stood against the snowy ground. After a few clicks I smiled all the way home.

Office Supplies Come Alive After 5!

Sitting in a 6′x 6′ cubicle isn't the most exciting way to spend a day (or the most conducive for photo-taking, for that matter!), but this here reminds me there's more to my 9-5 than what meets the eye.

If you were left in suspense after yesterday′s post, I′m sorry. I thought the packaging was a dead give-away! So yes, the gift was a new lens. This photo was taken with it. Once again I would like to thank a very thoughtful person - THANK YOU.

I wasn't supposed to find out about this surprise, but I did so a few weeks ago.
Yet, of all days, this arrives on a day when I am truly poor in spirit.
It turns out to be an unexpected surprise, after all.

Thank you honey! (No, not FarmBoy).

Sorry I didn't post my photo yesterday.  David and I spent most of our day at a friend's farm out in Uxbridge.  I was super excited to bring my camera because everyone knows that snow + country/horses/tonnes of dogs/tobagoning with kids/ = awesome :) Unfortunately, when I turned on my camera and the first thing I saw was "change battery pack".  I almost died in sadness.  By the time we got home, I still had to charge my battery before I could catch anything.  I ended up falling asleep and shot these little excited paw prints this morning when I was half awake :) It's not of the farm, but I thought it's a pretty good representation of how much fun we had yesterday :)

I woke up this morning with my headache gone and was feeling much more refreshed.  All I wanted was a light breakfast that would up my belly.  I've been craving porridge every morning for the past little while, so I decided to make it again.  My aunt makes the best porridge and no matter how I try to mimic her method, I just can't quite do it.  Anyhoo, this is my porridge and it sure did warm my belly.
